Opening Doors to Opportunities: In-School Edition

This programme gives students an insight into life at KPMG, a professional services firm, where they will learn from consultants working at the forefront of technological innovation. They’ll network with professionals and build confidence through this workshop while gaining meaningful work experience.

  • What's involved?

    These workshops are hosted in school and provide students with the chance solve tangible problems that relate to the circular economy, implementing pioneering technological developments and new methods of recycling, repairing and reusing smartphones.

    Students will gain first-hand insights into the kinds of tasks that land on a consultant’s desk, pushing the boundaries of possibility and developing key transferable skills.

    This programme brings the workplace into the classroom, enabling students to learn about new industries and career possibilities. Students will:

    • Work together in teams to tackle challenges based on daily KPMG client briefs
    • Explore and consider the use of technology in the real world
    • Be exposed to the economic and social impacts that shape the business environment including opportunities for innovation industry transformation
    • Hear from KPMG volunteers to gain exposure to working life
    • Develop core transferable skills, including speaking, listening and confidence

    These activities are designed to help students think creatively and solve problems collaboratively. Students will be supported to develop a range of skills which will serve them in their future pursuits – in education, employment, and beyond.

    It’s absolutely worth it and an amazing opportunity for the students to get first-hand experience of a corporate business.

    It’s a great workshop and really delivers in terms of making students think about their learning at school and why it’s important.  Students realise the importance of working hard at school and why subjects matter.

    Who's this suitable for?

    This programme is available to students in Years 7 - 13, or S1 - S6 in Scotland.

    Following confirmation of booking, the school should ensure that adequate numbers of staff are present during the workshop, and that the agreed number of students take part.
