LifeSkills for Primary Schools Created with Barclays
LifeSkills created with Barclays is a fully funded skills development programme designed to respond to the specific needs of your school and help you to reach several Gatsby benchmarks.
In 2024-25, we are bringing facilitated LifeSkills workshops to primary schools in ten areas across England.
What's involved?
This multi-part programme includes facilitator-led workshops specifically designed for students aged 7-11. It consists of two to four workshops delivered to the same cohort of students on each visit.
Our facilitators can deliver a range of topics including:
- Adaptability
- Aiming High
- Banking and budgeting basics
- Listening and speaking
- Strengths, goals and aspirations
- Safe and sensible spending
It also offers opportunities to develop core transferable skills such as problem solving, creativity, leadership and staying positive.
What teachers and volunteers say
Definitely book the life skills programme as the children really enjoy learning about money, budgeting and aspirations for future careers which is hard to sometimes incorporate into the curriculum. The volunteers and mentors are really helpful, kind and knowledgeable and are great with the children. - Teacher
I really enjoyed the day, I wish there had been LifeSkills when I was at school. - Volunteer
