M&G plc Enterprise Challenge
This numeracy focused STEM workshop links Maths to real life with a fun & realistic scenario. Students have the opportunity to act as large-scale event organisers in charge of arranging a music concert for 10,000 young people.

What's involved?
Using Maths ‘by stealth,’ this workshop offers students:
• an opportunity to develop their mathematical skills and knowledge
• the option to develop their transferable skills such as communication, resilience, and teamwork
• the chance to analyse information to make informed decisions about which artists they can afford to hire for the concert, how to arrange the respective stage layouts, consider the event’s catering and much more!
What students say:
“It was very interesting and taught me how to improve my teamwork and made me more confident in presenting in front of the class.”
“It was very fun and it pushed you out of your comfort zone.”
The following Maths curriculum linked areas will be covered (amongst others):
• profit and loss
• budgets and wages
• 2D and 3D shapes
• averages
• data, and more
What teachers say:
“Informative, challenging, thought provoking - encouraged the students to think about all the various components of organising a large scale event like a concert, in an engaging way.”
