During National Careers Week we’ve been showcasing some of our free interactive in-school workshops to help highlight prospective careers that students may not have considered.

Data Analysis is just one of these career options - it’s essentially a flash title for helping people and organisations make sense of data to make better choices, faster, for increased business growth and development.

We’re working with SAS UK who have identified a gap in the employment market for those who understand AI, and want to actively help the next generation develop the skills needed to succeed as potential Data Analysts of the future.

Students taking part in our SAS Future Analysts workshops get hands-on with data and gain a unique insight into how it can be used to tackle key global issues.

At the four workshop sessions, companies that use SAS’ data and analytics software, support young people with exciting and creative challenges. To tackle these, they are given access to core data concepts such as crowdsourcing and comparative analysis. The activities also engage participants in developing key employability skills such as teamwork and problem-solving.

If you think finding insights and data trends to help companies plan and make informed business decisions is something you or your students are interested in as a future career, contact us to book a free workshop at your school or college.

The workshop also ticks two of the Gatsby Benchmarks – more good news.

David Mawby, Programme Manager at The Talent Foundry, said:

“The world of data analysis will be a vital element of our economy over the decades to come.Young people participating in SAS Future Analysts will have a head start into this career path. The workshops raise awareness of the sector and provide an opportunity to get hands-on with data activities.

"So far students have really enjoyed taking part and discussing top tips for their next steps with expert volunteers. I am really excited to welcome more young people to the programme and take them on an inspirational data journey!”
