Working in partnership with 12 employers from the private and public sector, the team has delivered employability and skills workshops across the UK to help prepare young people as they take their first steps towards a fulfilling career.

It is widely acknowledged that the pandemic caused overall education outcomes to worsen and widen inequalities. However, teachers regularly told us that they wanted to their students to have the best possible chance of a fulfilling life and career beyond school.

During 2021-22 we were able to: • Develop students’ confidence, knowledge and skills in teamwork, listening, problem-solving, presenting and public speaking • Support 53,516 young people • Increase our corporate volunteer network by 61% • Offer programmes from Airdrie to Bodmin and Great Yarmouth to South Pembrokeshire.

Sir David Bell, Chair at The Talent Foundry said:

“The global pandemic, quite rightly, shone a light on inequalities in the most socio-economic disadvantaged towns and cities in the UK. The challenging economic climate does not deter us from continuing to support young people discover what they are amazing at. In fact, we passionately believe that diversity of background and experience is precisely what our economy needs to thrive.”

Jenni Anderson, Acting Chief Executive at The Talent Foundry said:

“This year’s annual report is a celebration of the incredible talent we see in schools up and down the country, every single day. We want to say a huge thank you to the teachers and school support staff who have trusted us to work with their students and continue to welcome our enthusiastic and engaging facilitation team into classrooms to inspire their students.”

The team would like to thank its partners and funders for supporting talented young people throughout the year.
