World Mental Health Day 2023

This World Mental Health Day we share our opportunities for young people to develop their skills and confidence through our Intensive Connections programmes.

One in eight people globally are living with mental health conditions, which can impact their physical health, their well-being, how they connect with others, and their livelihoods. Mental health conditions are also affecting an increasing number of children and young people.

Today is a time to reflect on what we can do to support young people as they prepare and plan for their future.

Our intensive connections programmes help young people to stay positive and build their confidence with support from industry volunteers to feel optimistic about their next steps - whether they choose to go onto higher education or into employment.

I originally had doubts. Even now, the talk of the future makes my heart ache, but these sessions quelled that uncertainty. I had meaningful conversations with volunteers and learnt what it may be like to work in the industry I'm interested in.
