We're working with the Centre for National Training and Research Excellence in Understanding Behaviour (CENTRE-UB) at University of Birmingham to level the playing field of opportunity within PhD studentships.

The centre is advancing the behavioural research capacity in the UK through investment from the ESRC.

Applications to study a four-year studentship with CENTRE-UB are now open, with additional support available for applicants from a lower socioeconomic background from The Talent Foundry.

Projects include:

  • developing digital tools to improve screening for autism
  • pro-environmental behaviour change and the role of zoos
  • using physical exercise to improve the welfare of content moderators
  • understanding behaviour of analysts working with online extremist content

We're delighted to be working with Professor Jessica Woodhams, Professor Jet Veldhuijzen van Zanten and Dr Vicky Goodyear to support students considering their future careers in behavioural science and research.

You can read more about the centre and the PhD studentship application process on the Centre UB website.
