12th October 2023 TTF nominated for three prestigious awards
The Talent Foundry has been shortlisted for not one, not two, but three awards!
We are delighted that The Talent Foundry has been shortlisted for three national awards this year – Charity Times, Third Sector and the UK Social Mobility (SOMO) Awards.
Plus, we are proud to have been named in the Top 100 Social Enterprises.
Our work with M&G plc has helped dozens of disadvantaged young people consider a career in the finance sector
All of our programmes support young people in schools where there is higher-than-average indices of deprivation, meaning our educational programmes are targeted and delivered where they are needed most.
For all three of these awards, we have been nominated for our programme work with our partners M&G plc.
Through our 9-year partnership with M&G, we’ve helped over 13,000 young people in the most underserved communities across the UK, through our free-to-access, versatile Skills for Life programme. For many schools the programme is embedded into their annual careers provision.
Our innovative approach and shared commitment to talented, underserved young people means alongside M&G, we’ve delivered inspiring skills development initiatives, new elements for 22/23 and included a bursary for higher education.
Reasons for our nominations
To give you an idea of what we’ve been up to, we’re sharing just a few highlights from our award worthy project work over the past year:
-
With hundreds of hours of support from M&G colleagues, thousands of young people have taken part in interactive activities and been equipped with the crucial core skills and confidence, needed to succeed in school and employment through the ‘Skills for Life’ programme.
-
Our pre-apprenticeship programme (Bridge to M&G) which consists of bespoke training and coaching sessions has supported three young people to secure apprenticeships at M&G – with successful students acting as mentors on other Skills for Life initiatives.
-
Built in partnership with M&G, we’ve expanded the ‘Enterprise Challenge.’ This programme links Maths to real life for key stage 3 students, with a fun and realistic scenario and complements our national Skills for Life programme. Our spirit is not dampened by the fact we didn’t win in our category at the Charity Times or Third Sector Awards on this occasion – we know that our work is making a crucial difference where development support is essential, and to be nominated for these awards feels very much like a virtual pat on the back.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that we might win at the SOMO awards later this month…. Watch this space!
