Powering Transformation
Powering Transformation invites Year 7 - 8 / S1- S2 students to a university campus for the day, to gain an insight into higher education and the world of work.
What's involved?
The day includes a hands-on problem-solving challenge to highlight how tech can help solve social or environmental challenges, fully facilitated by a TTF facilitator.
"Your presenters were brilliant in the way they encouraged the students to believe "I can do this".
Teacher, The Thomas Lord Audley School, University of Essex.
Students work in teams to pitch their innovative tech solution, to help develop their core transferable and employability skills.
“It was fun and interesting as it tested my skills and pushed me out of my comfort zone.”
Student from The Campion School, Coventry University.
“You facilitated the most fabulous session for us, pupils felt comfortable to engage fully in all activities from the outset, the facilitator created an atmosphere where our learners were determined to get involved and contribute to their teams and most importantly were not afraid to make mistakes along the way… again testament to the secure learning environment that was created for them.”
Teacher from The Westwood Academy, Coventry University.
Students have the chance to engage with Dell mentors and university student ambassadors who support throughout the day.
“The student ambassadors helped us to be more confident.”
Student from Fortis Academy, Coventry University.
Students also have the chance to ask any questions they might have about both higher education and the world of work.
“It was inspiring knowing that I could maybe come here one day.”
Student from Shaftesbury School, at University of Bath.
